They look better with black wheels I found.

just stuck a pair of Vittoria Open Pave Evo CG tyres on i had lying about. still undecided on the green stripes on the tyres but i fancy seeing if they live up to the hype, will post a pic when its light. on a side note dont ever get sand in speedplay cleats as it makes getting your feet out almost impossible.

ok ive got rid of the green/black pave evo,s and stuck a pair of zaffiro pro all whites on instead. my reasoning is that it will show off my ceramic rims and co-ordinate with the white writing on the frame, will stick the attack/force combo back on when it gets a bit nicer. also swapped the shimano 105 5600 12/25 cassette for a sram og 1070 11/28 model to help me on the hills as i died going up parbold hill.

i took the white tyres off before i even tried them, seemed like a good idea at the time. just ordered a set of black chainrings with cnc detailing to replace the sram red rings as i think they will suit the chainset better also adding some blue anodised chainring bolts. also fitted a pair of black/blue cst czar tyres to try them out and im going to replace the use ringo star headset adjuster for a normal compression plug model as i dont like the loose fitting of the cap.

here she is with some new bits, i reckon the chainrings suit the bike better. glad i got rid of the use aheadset adjuster as it loosened off once or twice, just fitted a normal compression type.

just fitted a pair of conti 4000s tyres 700x25c. after a quick ride i can make out a huge difference in grip and the bike feels a lot more comfortable too. if they are as puncture proof as my old grand prix tyres i will be a happy man. will add pics when is not dark.

made a few little changes to the bike. changed the seatpost to a 27.2mm ti model with a bit of lay back. it is loads comfier, the 31.6mm inline post was a bit too rigid. the saddle has changed to a flite carbonio flow slr model, at 125grams its much lighter than the charge knife it replaces and seems almost as comfortable.also fitted a hope ceramic bottom bracket which should last much longer than the previous sram gxp unit. also fitted lots of blue blingy bits such as brake pads, brake adjusters, cable ferrules and seat clamp and finally i stuck some eleganza bartape on.

in an effort to lighten the bike and add more blue bits im going to swap the wheels for a set of mavic kysrium elites with foss tubes, conti 4000's in blue and a set of aest cnc blue crank arms running on a wheels manufacturing ceramic bottom bracket. all these changes should knock a pound off the total weight. i will keep the mavic ceramic wheels for winter duties. i will post pics when all the bits arrive and are fitted.

ive just put the new wheels together, kysrium elites, conti 4000's in blue and ultra light control tech tubes. weighing them against the wheels im removing, the total weight of the new wheels is exactly 300 grams lighter. just had a set of planet x carbon bars in white turn up and they weigh in at 210 grams so i will save 50 grams swapping the bars. the new chainset along with the new bb should knock close to 200grams !!! off the current set up . and finally i will be swapping the bar tape for some blue cinelli bubble tape. the bike should weigh mid to late 15lbs which im happy with as im not sacrificing strength or spending silly amounts to achieve it. will post pics as soon as the chainset arrives and is fitted. just weighed it with the new wheels fitted and it comes in at 16.25lbs so it should easily dip under 16lbs with the other bits fitted. i have just ordered a set of easton ec90 sl forks and a white fsa mx pro headset which should knock off close to another 1/4 of a pound. all up weight should be just under 15 and a half, not bad with pedals and bottle cage fitted. going to leave well alone after this round of upgrades although i am tempted by superstars stans rimmed wheelset which would knock another half pound off, although i would like some user feedback on stiffness before i take the plunge as im quite a heavy guy. all the parts have arrived apart from the chainset ,should hopefully be here for the end of the week then i can get it all together and get some miles in.

here she is with the latest bits ive fitted, the blue cnc aest chainset is not fitted as it turned up faulty and im waiting on a replacement. here is the full spec which weighs in at 15.6 lbs. once i fit the new chainset and the superstar stans alpha 340 wheelset the weight should just break the 15lbs barrier. just ordered some finishing touches, blue tiso crank arm bolt, superlight blue seat clamp, blue titanium top cap bolt, blue bottle cage bolts and some blue and white ahead spacers. also ordered a smaller, lighter magnet for the computer as the supplied one is massive.

first ride with all the new bits fitted was fast. even though the bike is much lighter it still retains a solid feel with just enough give to iron out the road.

no cycling for me at the moment as ive just put my back out (again) :(
on a brighter note here is the bike with its new lightweight seatpost clamp and easton ec90 chainset, weight is now just below 15 1/2 lbs.

been a while since any upgrades so i treated myself to a new set of shimano rs80 c24's which replace the rather uncomfy ksyrium elites also fitted a set of specialized turbo pro's in blue, zipp lightweight tubes and an ultegra 11/28 cassette.

bikes riding lovely although im not happy with the compact chainset, it seems my legs still have what it takes to turn bigger gears so i have just purchased a new set of sram red black edition cranks with 53/39 rings. will save the eastons for the lightweight carbon project i have in mind. pics when fitted. annoyingly the wheels manufacturing bottom bracket wont work with the sram cranks but luckily i have a hope ceramic unit that does.

here is the bike with it's new chainset. i replaced the black sram red rings with a set of dura-ace 7800 rings i had knocking about, they have less than 100 miles on them so as new really. i also managed to purchase an adapter kit for my wheels mfg bb, its a token kit used to convert their own bb's from standard 24mm hollowtech to the gxp axle but it fits my bb fine. the adapter only cost a fiver but it wont work on all 24mm bb's .
with the dura-ace rings the shifting is much better and they are slightly lighter too although ive gained around 70 grams over the compact easton ec90 chainset i had fitted.
