Still shopping!

I've come back to this a few times now. I'm hearing good things about the frame, but you really can't argue with the spec - sram red and zipps for 3200 pounds. Pity Halfords.ie take the p1ss with the euro exchange rate. Should be about 3600 euro, but halfords in Ireland wand 4200 euro for it . Grrr.

A ferry is surely less than 600 euro?

Errr, so what was the question?

Is it the best bargain? :)

Most other machines I've been looking at are around the 3k mark, and are delightfully press pictured with delicious carbon wheels on them, and then you look at the spec detail and they're sold with racing 9's or ksyrium equipes :? - Fair play to Boardman for selling such a top spec machine for what seems like a decent price (in the UK at least).

The Halfords connection probably doesn't lend the brand too much credibility however IMO. There isn't much I would shop in Halfords for personally.... apart from windscreen "screeny wash" or something.

But to compare - the only other bike I've come across with zipps (of a sort) as standards is the Felt AR2. Comes with Zipp / Felt branded aero wheels - I think they're sort of a cheaper zipp flashpoint effort. But the AR2 is priced at nearly 4700 euro in Ireland.

    Move to England.
Or, come on a day trip and buy one here.
Or, get someone to buy one for you and post it over.
    Or, stop moaning. :D

    Ha ha ha :D

Christ, all I'm doing is trying to start a discussion on a bike :D

Yeah, sure I could buy one over the border, without recourse to postage or ferrying- we have .co.uk outlets over here too y'know

But even on a euro to euro comparison between that felt and the boardman - carbon frame with sram red and zipp 404's for 4200, v's Felt carbon frame, sram red and sort of zipps for 4700. The boardman is still well priced I reckon.

Pity about the colour schemes. The felt is much more striking looking, the boardman all black with a bit of yellow is a bit.... Dolan....or something. Even a bling saddle, maybe some white (is the new black) bar tape, a flash stem and maybe even red hoods to match the sram red touches, would bling the boardman up a bit and make it less dour looking.
