Rivington 100 Cycle Ride

Sunday 13th June 2010

A 100 mile route (52 mile route also available) which will include many famous climbs such as the Nick of Pendle as used in the tour of Britain and also some sections of the Commonwealth Games Road Race 2002. The day will have over 10,000ft of climbing so it is not for the faint hearted. The route will take you through the stunning countryside of Lancashire and Bowland Forest.

This year we are organising a 'King of the Mountain' trial along the 100 mile route - more details of this will be sent out to registered riders in due course

For more details or to take part, simply contact Charlotte Nash at Bolton Lads & Girls Club at charlotte.nash@blgc.co.uk or 01204 540128

You could do with getting some details of the event, map of the course, etc onto the BLGC website, Charlotte, even if you're not quite geared-up to take entries yet.

Looks like there will be a few of us from NCC doing this one, it's one of our 'club suggested' events for the year after one member did it last year and thoroughly reccomends it.

<edit : actually I see it is open for entries

and there is a map on Cyclosport

  • Unfortunately our website (www.blgc.co.uk) has been frozen as we are currently in the process of building a new one. This means I am unable to load the map onto the website and it appears that the new website is taking some time to build.

If you know of any websites that I might be able to upload the map for people to view I would be grateful for any ideas. Otherwise if people would like to drop me an email or give me a call (01204 540128) I am more than happy to send out copies.

So pleased to hear that our ride is on your suggested list, its great to hear that from our first time at the event last year it has been recommended so much.

    Thanks
  • Oh thanks Andy, I have been waiting for Cyclosport to put the map on....great to see its finally on there.
  • Hi all

Just a quick update to let you know that we now have 63 riders already registered for this event. We're also expecting a good number of riders to register on the day so fingers crossed we'll be well over the 150 mark when all's said and done!

I hope you're looking forward to the event as much as we are. Keep in touch and watch this space for news about our King of the Mountain section and our official event photographer!

If you've any queries, please contact either Claire (01204 540117) or Simon (01204 540116).

I'd end up having a heart attack. If I currently had a bike, but coming down Longridge fell is very very fun, but the climb up Pendle over to Sabden ARGHHH!

I grew up in Clitheroe :) Have fun all at the weekend!
