    I'm not bagging Wiggle, but....

Just checked the cost of my recent purchases if I'd bought them from Wiggle (with the discount). Seems that I still did a better buy elsewhere... without the fanfare/discount.

All that glitters is not (neccessarily) platinum

I was looking at some prices on Wiggle only yesterday. Those same products have actually risen in price today before the discount was added.
    Just a coincidence of course...

Ribble is your friend in these days of increasing prices!

With the 15% discount the Wiggle prices might come down to a par with CRC et al. The last mail order/internet purchase I made was from CRC and Wiggle were £10 dearer on a £15 item from CRC.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

I have come to the conclusion that Wiggle prices have increased to subsidise the free international delivery. How else could you spend £50 and pay the same shipping rate (i.e. £0) whether you live in the UK or the south Pacific.
  • i see they have the cayo 105 ltd edition down 20% to £960! That's got to be worth a look...

Does that mean that the Focus Cayo 105 Ltd Edition is down 20% to £960, then at check out they will discount a further 15% making the actual cost is £816 ? If so, then pass me my credit card ! (Or am I being naive ?)

I just spent >£100 on new wheel, gears and chain at Wiggle, there was only a couple of quid difference either way between Wiggle and CRC on the bits & pieces so it balanced out, and CRC didn't have the wheels I wanted.

Now trying to get Wiggle to give me the 15% discount retrospectively, I'll forgive them for not sending Hraibo sweets if they do :D

It seems that Wiggle inflated the prices and then offered the 15% - There were a couple of things that I was interested in and after the 15% the price is within a few pence of what it was a couple of weeks ago.

Does anyone have an opinion on this bike? I'm tempted by it but don't have long to make a decision (obviously).

I think the wheels are probably terrible but I've got some Ksyrium SLs which I could put on it.

Is the Cayo frame actually any good?

Ribble are offering their usual 15% off goods over £100, but also an additonal £10 off for a few days. No doubt in response to the Wiggle offer, but I am happy as I have just picked up new Assos Uno S5 shorts for £93, a (relative) bargain.

    Definitely a relative bargain!

Wiggle prices are sometimes lower than others. Have bought lots of stuff from them that was cheaper than Ribber/CRC/Evans, etc. (But I always get the platinum discount so it helps)

Plus their customer service is the best I've deal with.

Certainly a couple of years ago Wiggle were untouchable on price but these days I hardly ever order from them, the likes of Merlin,Ribble,PlanetX and more consistantly undercut them - sometimes by £100's!

I have a wish list full of stuff at wiggle from bottle cages to workstands and when I price checked against CRC every item was cheaper at wiggle.

  • It depends what you want to buy surely?!

I get a lot of DHB stuff so wiggle is best for me... i got a bargain on a new pair of pedals and lights too which couldnt be beaten anywhere else. One Retailer will beat their competition on different weeks, its just a case of shopping around and doing some research. Common sense i suppose...

I did that as well when they had a similar offer last month for valentines day! They're worth it just for the box!

their service is excellent to date, with next day delivery (less than 18 hours 'click to door') although you need to check prices obviously...

I was just looking at Ribble for something but not sure whether to risk their service as they seem to have a dreadful rep for actually doing anything right or reolving issues. Is it worth the risk to save £15?

Ribble are ok for mail order parts and clothing-you'll get your order in a few days.

But if you're after a bike build it can be a bit hit and miss.

thanks - might risk it then... I'll use the CC so at least I can get it reversed if they dont deliver.
