Me and some friends where planning on building and maintaining some of the trails at harlestons firs in northampton over the summer.
The land is open access and owned by the Earl of Althorp, does anybody know if we need to get permission to build trails on this land and if so who do we contact?
Many thanks,
Neil
P.S sorry if this is in the wrong section.

At a guess seeing as the land is owned by the Earl of Althorp I'd guess it would be him you need to speak to, or probably his man.
Just because it's open access doesn't mean you can do what you want there. If you build something, someone rides it and gets hurt, Mr Althorp will be in the brown stuff. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result0 -
I should post up on these guys forum http://www.treadsmtb.co.uk
You'll hopefully be able to link up with the group who maintain what;s already there.Northwind wrote: It's like I covered it in superglue and rode it through ebay.0
