Replacement wheels for Boardman Pro Carbon

I have ordered a Boardman Pro Carbon (because I'm cheap) but have heard negative stories regarding the wheels.

I have a set of barely used 2001 Mavic Ksyrium SSC which weigh 1600 grams I think, would it be worth swapping to these as I'm not sure of the Ritchey's weight or reliability.

Any advice appreciated !

There's nothing cheap about those bikes except the price..... Halfords bikehut rode them all last season to good results. Dare i say rob hayles will be happier this season on the look machines they have though!

Ritchey make some good stuff. And some verrrry nice carbon wheels if you have the cash. If it were me, and it probably will be sometime in the future as i am eyeing up the pro carbon for my next bike, but id like some mavic cosmic elites. the real deep rimmed ones.

Although what price range are you talking. Generally with any bike spend 300quid and they'll be much better than stock OEM wheels.

If you have the wheels anyway - try swapping them and let us know what you think ?

Cheers, I will swap them over when it turns up.

Cycling Plus had the weights but they seemed monstrously high (1700ish rear and 1200 front) do they include the tyre and cassette?

Must be - otherwise you should change them now!

i had a 09 pro carbon .the wheels were ritchey rims and generic no name hubs. i weighed them at 1690 grams no qr,s. not bad but i found them to be quite flexy. also i contacted halfrauds about how i could get hold of a spare freehub if mine ever broke, their answer was that i should contact a specialist cycle shop !!!!!!!!! they had absolutely no info on hubs that they sell and also dont consider themselves a specialist bike shop. i got £200 for my wheels and tyres on ebay which i put towards a set of wheels with readily available spares

I sold mine for £100 on here and got myself some EA90 SLs.

Only been out on the bike once, but I cant see how I would tell the difference between the boardman or another bike costing another £1k.
