  • The GC for these early season stage races is always tricky because one can pick someone with the qualities to win (like a Cunego or a VDV) who goes in only for training. For that reason I'm gona pick Phillipe Gilbert, on the hope that the weather is atrocious on Stage 3 and the bordures really open up like last year.

    I'll go for Geraint Thomas for the time trial Stage 1, he can be my left field pick for this race, even though it will be one of the two Spaniards (Sanch and Conti) who actually wins.

    Can I have Jimmy Casper for the frist road stage please? Stage 2

    I fancy Nicolas Roche for the climbers jersey so he'll need a day like Stage 4 to get away and get enough points, as Saturday's stage will be for the GC players I think.
