The road seasons starting and i want to make sure i get the best road tryes for the road races.
Any suggestions?
I will be willing to go upto £60 max for the pair!
Plus should i get new inner tubs, or just use the old ones?
Thanks for any comments

Not a racer here but having used Vredestein Tricomps for several years I'd be interested to know as to why the slick version is £14 more - at nearly £45 a shot - than the standard Tricomp.0
-
U like Fortezza Tricomps too - u will love the slicks, the TPI has been upped to 220 (from 120) and weight reduced to 180 (from 225) with same level of puncture protection but being slicks they don't have the same performance in wet. I also like the Tricomp Quattro version, its more of a wet tyre (4 season) but side effect is even better puncture protection.0

Pro race 3, they come in 9 different colours, none of them green.0

I'm running Conti GP Attack Force and they perform very well.
I run mine at 100psi and Im 144lbs.
The Chili compund ones look even nicer.
Conti GP4000s Chili are very good as well...had a pair of these on my old BMC.

Another vote for the Vredesteins here, lovely feel to them, and they seem pretty tough too which is a bonus.
Just fitted a pair of Ultremo R.1's today to try, but first ride tomorrow, weather permitting. They sure are light, and the easiest things ever to fit. Look good too, just hope they ride well!Open One+ BMC TE29 Seven 622SL On One Scandal Cervelo RS0 -

Did they have a recall on this model?
Not sure what the issue was.
Thinking about these too when I get my new wheels soon...so interested to know how you get on with them.
Glad to hear they fit on nice.
My Conti's were really tight on my American Classic 350 sprints.Planet X RT-57 custom build0 -
The recall was on the older version, the Ultremo R.
They released an updated model, the R.1, which so far apparently has had no problems.
I run Mavic SSC SL rims, and some Reynolds wheels too, and have variously fitted Conti, Vredestein and Michelin, all relatively easily, but these were by far the easiest to fit, just rolled on with light thumb pressure first up.
I've also got some Campagnolo Eurus wheels on another bike, and fitting *any* tyre to those is a ba$t*rd of a job. :x They currently have the Fortezza Tri Comps fitted, and I am hoping I get about 50,000km out of the tyres with no flats, because I don't ever want to have to take them off!!!Open One+ BMC TE29 Seven 622SL On One Scandal Cervelo RS0 -
I run Campy wheels too - best to fit new tyres on a different wheelset and run for 100km in warm weather then swap.0

If you are buying then why not!
Alternatively a few minutes on the trainer at home should do the trick!0
