Powertap wheel advice

Hi

Can anyone help me please, im scratching my head with confusion. I bought a powertap last year and it came with a Mavic wheel, which has 32 spokes. I recently bought a new bike that has Easton Vista wheels and 24 spokes. Ideally I would like to get matching wheels. Here are my questions:

- do I need to look for a 32 spoke rim or rear wheel?
- can any recommend a reasonably priced rear racing wheel/rim that would compliment my Easton Vista front wheel.

Cheers in advance.

Powertap is usually used in conjuction with a 32H rim to prolong durability - if its Mavic then I suspect its an open pro of something like that so your best option would be to get the same mavic rim laced up to your preferred choice of front hub - as its a front it need not be 32H - can be 28 or even 24 depending on your weight and requirements. Eastons are factory made wheels so doubt they would do a rim with 32H as factory wheels are always lower spoke count to reduce weight. Hope its clear.

Thanks for the response. When you say "Laced up" do you mean spokes? So get the same spokes as my front wheel in the Mavic Open Rim thats attached to my powertap?

No - leave the powertap wheel alone unless its broken - due to your powertap which is 32H you are stuck with 32H rims so best you can do is replicate the rear on the front wheel - i.e. buy the same rim as you have on rear and a hub with required spoke count, 32 or 28 i suppose if Powertap is silver then get a silver front hub - spokes all look a like unless its black or bladed or something like that. If its too confusing then take your rear to a wheelbuilder and ask them to make a matching front.

All you need is a front wheel built to match your PT rear.
Generally, Powertaps are used for training, not racing, so you'll have a Powertap (pair) for training, and your Vistas for racing...
