Hi guys,
recently on my road bike I have been getting really bad aching in my arms after/during really hard efforts. Its really hard to support yourself on the bike, and very painful. I was just wondering if anyone else has suffered this, and if so, what to do about it? I dont think I am overstretched..
Thanks,
Ben.

You will get used to this, I had it and it was just getting used to the different positions. plus your arm do get some working out, pulling when climbing and controlling when descending.0

Yeah but im a mountain biker at heart, and my arms are strong/fit...its really wierd. Its when im really putting the power down for sustained efforts and my arms hardly move, it just feels like the blood is dragging through them and making them ache? Its mainly the bicep, but also a bit of the back of the arm...0

You are probably tensing up, especially if you are pushing hard, how long has this been happening ?0

I get it sometimes when I'm trying to power over smaller hills. I've worked out that I'm gripping the bars too tightly and pulling on them too much. I'm now trying hard to maintain a more relaxed grip while still applying power, and it's much better.0

What type of ache is it? Muscle or joint?
Try adjusting the saddle to get a more comfy ride. I found that moving closer to the bars helped a little in terms of addressing my "tennis elbow." Most of it was caused by vibrations, though.0 -
Is your saddle level? If it's tilted forwards (nose down) it could be throwing your weight onto your arms.0
