I'm working in Cardiff next week, and rather than commute home for the weekend I'm taking my bike with me, and have booked a B+B in Brecon, to have a ride on Sunday (6th March). Anybody local want to join me? Or, can anybody suggest an unmissable route, or epic climb? I've sketched out a possible here:

I've ridden in the Beacons before, but more from the Abergavenny end, hence I'm tending toward those same roads. I like the hills, both ways. Should I be heading north instead? Ideas?

I`d stay off Heads Valley rods though, busy main road. BUT
Why not take a look at both the Tour Black Mtn and Devil Ride routes and put something together from them---both have excellent routes and could be incorporated into a great ride.
Gospel Pass good, but may be a bit busy if sunny and nice
What about; Brecon>Mynydd Illtuyd> Trecastle > Military Road over Sennybridge Ranges> Llangammarch Wells> Garth > Beulah> Devils Staircase> Llyn Brianne> Llandovery > Brecon eitehr on A road or parrallel minor roads. You would have three top climbs, graet views on Sennybridge Ranges, great ride around Llyn Brianne in mid Wales on a sunny day FANTASTIC!!0
