Just about to purchase a pair of "DA 7900 STI levers" but something is concerning me from reviews ive seen.... Is it correct that all 7900 STI levers rattle?

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Had mine a month and no rattle....but, they are nowhere near as comfortable as my Ultegra 6600, the DA hoods are slimmer and the DA brake lever doesn't fit very well in the 'trigger' position....having said that the shifting is slicker with the DA with less throw of the lever.
In conclusion, I much prefer the feel of Ultegra erganomically

Didnt i see you asking about upgrading from Ultegra to DA ? its not an upgrade that you'll notice - not for the money anyway.

Cougie I want to upgrade all my groupset from Ultegra 6700 to DA as I got a mixture of both when I bought my Madone.
I just read reviews on WW about the DA levers rattling.

3000 kms with some good rain and grit and no rattling. And that is over some really bad Surrey and Kent washboard. Don't believe the hype. I do like the action of 7800 better in the final analysis. It's so light and the closest to electronic feel as I could imagine. No mechanical feel at all.

DO believe the hype that closer tolerances in shifting systems lead to the cables being more important - this is also a pre-requesite for Red which demands (maybe too much) really slick cable for the rear due to the zero-loss internals.

You'll notice the professionally maintained Red bikes with a HUGE rear der loop. I did this on the DA and it looks off to my eye but it keeps the shifting a bit more friction free.

So get some decent cables, take care when cutting, and use a spoke or coat hanger to ream out the housing end by inserting it, spinning and adding outwards pressure to open it up, before you slip the metal ferrul on the end. IME most cable friction occurs and housing junctions & cable stops and not in the middle of the loop. Hope that makes sense.
    When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.

Thanks for the advice FransJacques unfortunately I won't be fitting them if I do purchase the DA shifters, I'll have my LBS fit them for me.
As for the cable advice I was thinking about getting some Yokozuna Reaction Cables, ive heard good reviews about these.
