Thinking about buying one. Anyone have one or know whether it's any good?

Cheers

  • yep, buy one. fast, light (for alu) stiff as hell and a great race bike.

I've got one which has now been relegated to winter trainer / commuter but may get resurrected as my crit / race bike. In all honesty I think it rides better than my 'good' bike.

Cheers, chaps. I've been hankering after one for about three years now (was looking at the girly blue one, too!) and, after my alu commuter frame cracked last year, I want a replacement for the commute, training and maybe the odd race.

What are the PX forks like? I thought about putting some Reynolds forks on there (had them on my old commuter and they were great).

  • forks are spot on, I wouldn't change them. full carbon steerer as I recall so light enough too.
unfortunately you can't get the powder blue anymore.... so if you're seriously interested in a powder blue one I do have one for sale, but it is size small.

Ok, might go for them then.

I need a large. Not sure how the powder blue would be greeted by my eldest either. It's the same colour as my youngest daughter's bike... :)

Trainer / commuter? Does it take full mudguards or have you put crud guards / race blades on?

I ask because could do with a fast winter tainer frame.

Also how comfortable is this frame on a half day ride?

    Thanks.

  • no mounts for mudguards, so would need to be crud. I think they would fit ok, tight clearances though.

the team superlight is definitely a race frame, although I'd say if you get a decent carbon post and saddle you should be grand on longer rides. probably the longest I ever rode mine was 4 1/2 hours or so and never had an issue.

I use Cruds on it. It was designed first and foremost to be a race frame and was raced by the likes of Mark Lovatt in the Premier Calendar. I have however taken it on longer rides and it is comfortable enough. Mine is the baby blue and I find it rather fetching!
