creaky 36 spring/should i grease.

im about to fit my spare 36 van rc2s,havnt used em befor but when i compress em the spring creaks.ive checked the spring and seen that there is a piece of plastic wrap about half way down.My question is should i apply some grease to the spring as iknow that is the done thing on my revelations on my other bike.Also dose any one know where i can get some crush washers for the bottom legs on 36 fox forks as mojo only appears to do ones for 32mm forks. thnx in advance for any replies.......Del 46.
