Hi

I am wanting to buy some Shimano SPD road shoes,

which are compatible with SPD-SL and Look cleats (triangular ones)

but i was wanting to get some Shimano M520 pedals.

Will these be compatible with the cleats I need for the shoes or will i have to get road pedals instead?

thanks
sophie

    nope different fittings.

but some of the Shimano trekking shoes IIRC have MTB fitting but road looks (or is it the other way).

get some mtb race shoes, something more or less like these- http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Shima ... 360040193/

I got some a couple of years back and use them for off and on road. tough and practical enough for the former, stiff enough for the latter

Plenty of people use mtb pedals on road bikes (inc me).

Most Specialized shoes look pretty much the same whether they are designed for road (3 bolt on bottom) or mtb (2 bolt) and there are plenty of others that will look good for both disciplines.
