7 8 speed chains hed tri spoke carbon wheel

just bought a hed tri spoke carbon wheel on e bay with a srew on type 7 speed block.would like to no if the old style chain will run through a modern shimano mech ,will it also run on a modern chainset .was wanting to put this on a tt bike with the shifters on the areo bars
