Argh! Sell or Service?!

So, got a Commencal Meta 4. Never really liked it but it did have an incredible predecessor (I had an Orange 5 previously before it was stolen).
Now things are wearing out. It needs a new chain, cassette, rings, tyres, but do I spend £200 on this (oh, and it probably needs a hub/forks service too) or do I sell it and get something fresh that might suit my style more (i.e. 2nd hand)? OR... do I swap out the frame and service the kit?
Tough call! Any advice, riders?

you can get a second hand orange 5 for about £1500 so it depends if you want to stretch to that.0

I would if I could, but we're buying a house at the moment so can't really spend that kind of wedge on a steed.
Thanks for the input, but I'm still at a loss!0 -
depends how much you get for your commencal. cant find any on fleabay atm sorry. seems like its a service. what dont you like about it? maybe with a few tweaks we can get you to like it more.0

There's a Meta 5 going for £825 atm, so I think I'd be happy if I got £800 if I sold mine.
It feels like the head angle's too steep as it's really unstable on the downs/singletracks, but when I check out the specs, it's pretty similar to the 5.
Maybe jacking the front up with some longer forks? Perhaps the 5's wheelbase was longer, hence the stability...? (Hmm, more research methinks!)0 -
If you buy a second hand bike to replace it, what are the odds the last owner was thinking "Hmm, this is worn out, sell or repair..."Uncompromising extremist0
