I've had a pair of CR420s for the last 2 years and previously had a pair of the earlier 405 hubs I built onto some Velocity rims. There has been a history of weak hubs - but in fact they are very easy to service and the new design uses bigger, stronger bearings and I've only had one minor niggle that took a few minutes to fix. They are perceptibly faster than shallow rim wheels at speeds over 50kph due to the aero rims. The only limitation is that because of the narrow hub flange distance, they aren't the stiffest laterally so less suited to heavier, more powerful riders. If you can't go to deep section wheels they are a good compromise - light and fast enough to race on, cheaper than many other factory wheels and tough enough to train on.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
