Hey all, I'm new to the forum but been cycling for a few years and have a few different bikes.
I recently got a salvaged bike just as a work horse.
I'm looking to put some thinner tyres on the bike to make it more road friendly, but don't know what size will fit.
The rim says 26 x 1.75 on it, anyone know how thin I can go?

Cheers

What rims and size are they?
  • The rim has 26 x 1.75 stamped on it.
It's got some x 2.10 on it now and feeling to much drag on the road.

Usually rims have the ERTRO measurements ie 559 x 17, where the 559 is the nominal 26 inch size, and the latter the internal width in millimetres.

Yours seem to have the external width in inches. I would not fit narrower tyres than 1.75 - but plenty of slicks available in this size.
  • That's kind of what I thought, have been looking at some 1.75 slicks,
tho I've already got 1.95 slicks on my Kona and was hoping for something thinner.
    Thanks for your input.
