  • Just got back from 3 days riding in Betws, stayed at the Vagabond Bunkhouse, absolutely great for cheap accomodation.

This is a bunkhouse and not a B&B so don't expect 5star but for £21 a night including a good full breakfast with unlimited tea and toast, Bike storage, hot showers and a Bar......can't be bad.

I liked it anyway, 200yards from the town centre......

Chicken Fat is it any good?
would you recommend the £30 all inclusive or would it be better to pay more for a B&B?

Swallow falls Hostel is perfect. 4, 6 and 10 man dorms I think and the vast majority of them have an en-suite shower/toilet (but make sure you ask for an en0-suite just in case) http://www.swallowfallshotel.co.uk/item ... d_yha.html I always stay there! Only £15.50 a night. Breakfast is an extra £5 or so, but not very good. We always go into betws-y-Coed for a fry up first thing!

penmachno is the best trail ever FACT!! The wetter the better in my opinion! http://www.mbwales.com/en/content/cms/B ... achno.aspx

Coed-y-Brenin is about 30-40 mins away too and has loads of good trails! http://www.mbwales.com/en/content/cms/C ... renin.aspx

  • Compo,

Yeah, just what we needed. i would go for the £21, there are a couple of places for cheap but good evening meals in the town.

As for leaving the bags there, we found them very accomodating so i'm sure they would.

They even took some details and ensured we were back off the trail and not lost which in bad weather would have been very useful, not so much when we went though.
