Daft question about light oil

Bear with me
Following the service instructions for a Hope ProII rear hub, I'm supposed to apply a light oil weekly (to ratchet seal and between cassette and hub). What should I be using as "light oil" - is there some brand name I should look for in the shop?
As a chemist, light oil is a type of crude to me

someone read the manual.
a chain wet lube would do.

Mavic hubs need a light mineral oil to lube the the freehub seal and pawls. After quite a lot of internet trawling and asking on forums I asked a bloke who used to be a cycle mechanic and he said Singer sewing machine oil or Shimano mineral brake fluid was the best.Fig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0
