Cheap custom tops

At work, I've got roped into doing the London to Brighton again. Rather than the usual baggy corporate t-shirts, I was wondering what the cheapest you could get a "proper" custom jersey done for (one background colour with one colour logo/words). Doesn't have to be Assos - just something that'll last the 9 hours it'll take some of the people to finish.

I think there's about 20 people taking part. I doubt very much if it's possible to get it done cheaply enough for the company to pay, but I thought I'd ask.

  • Shutt VR can do short run custom jersies. In fact they've done many charity event jersies

PM me with the design you were thinking of or just colours and logos and we'll get you a cracking product at a very good price!

As Chip says we are happy to do small runs of 5 or more and the price for 20 would be very affordable. Close to a custom lycra one but streets ahead in look and feel. Plus you will have a custom sportswool jersey you will want to wear time and time again not use for washing the car..

    These are good:

They will do small orders (5 jerseys), and are good quality - I've got their bib shorts and jerseys.

  • Thanks guys.

Again, I have to stress that the emphasis is on cheap. I'd like a(nother) nice quality jersey, but probably not with my employer's name/logo on it (seeing as I don't work anywhere remotely cool).

You could be clever, and come up with a 'cool' name and logo for your ride and team. You wouldn't need to have your employers name on then

We've done a lot of corporate jerseys for charity rides and some have got into the broadsheets. If you look at our fan page there is one shown there... They are the ones in the ladies pants!

I think its better to pay for something that will get a lot of use than something cheap that goes straight into the bin after.

We just did a very nice one for these guys...

Give us a call and we'll see what we can come up with, no pressure! :)

  • I think Decathlon do some fair;ly cheap, reasonable quality jerseys in white. Take these to your local t-shirt printing shop, the kind that does football club strips and get your design printed on. Keep the logo or lettering smallish as it'll probably create a sweat patch and it'll probably peel off after a few washes but it'll last until you get to the top of Ditchling...
Some friends of mine went this route to make a set of four Team Raleigh Chopper tops for the last Dragon Ride and they all survived - the tops and the riders. I think they came in at about a tenner a top.
having said all that, Shutt VR do seem very helpful - maybe get them to do one just for you and become the protected rider.

I would have a word with Shutt if you want something that's going to last, is great quality and good value, they do custom work and the jersey's are merino wool so they will be quality kit for not much money. I went to Endura last year and paid more than Shutt want for some basic lycra kit. The link is here if you want to have a look http://shuttvr.com/products.php
