Hi All
What are your collective opinions on the Panaracer Razer XC 2.1 tyres?? It seems that nobody/few people buy them as they all go for the Panaracer Fire XC Pros or something similar.
Are the Razers any good for XC riding? I realise they are not for full on sludge conditions but for fireroads etc and races aren't they decent? Surely people would want them as they are a lightweight tyre (approx 450g) or is this offset by them being relatively puncture prone & the tyre may not be as strong??
Advice please guys on both the Razers and the Fire XC Pros
Thanks in advance.

Constantly trying to upgrade my parts. It is a long road ahead as things are so expensive for little gain. n+1 is always the principle in my mind.

my brother gave me a pair of XCpros (red sidewall) after his MB got nicked (he replaced with a fixed gear  so dident need them)
i've use them on a wide variety of surfaces: clayey mud, snow/ice, rocks/roots, seem a bit slower on hardpack/tarmac but good alrounders, cant comment on the razer.0 -
I use a 2.3 Panaracer Razer MX PR on the rear, the PR being the 'puncture resistant' version. Heavily discounted on CRC last year and figured I'd give it a go. I think they have pinch-flat protection and a lining under the tread.
It comes up narrow for a 2.3 inch tyre but is still pretty high volume. Designed for hardpack conditions and is fast rolling. I've used it all winter without problem - but then my local trails don't really have slippery rocks or roots. Rolls well on tarmac too.
I think it's a good tyre if you don't ride anything too slippy or boggy.0
