No reason why people have to, you don't really need to know it do you?0 -

Err yup. Staffs is close enough. This is a public forum. You don't have to log in to browse around. Talk about all those bikes and the new gear you have can be admired by anyone.
Right now there are 91 registered folks and 680 guests which, in a way, proves my point. Not paranoia, just being a bit savvy that's all.0 -

The OP doesn't ask you to go any further than the info you already include.
Not asking to declare your postcode, or a genuine photo for an avatar, just so the local thieves can confirm your ID before visiting your shed! :shock:Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -
All good points, but sometimes a user will be talking about 'the weather here' or 'the hills around here' etc, and it would be useful to know where 'here' is - is it near me, can I go there and cycle, is it relevant to my area etc. Won't give any ne'er-do-wells any info that could be used for nefarious purposes. Just a thought.0

How about if I add 'Somewhere in the Highlands' would that help?

That's it - nothing too specific.0 -
We should also have a bit that list our qualifications. I'm fed up of threads where someone posts "you obviously haven't got qualifications in rocket science" or "I'm a rocket scientist" as if that makes their opinion any more valid. Maybe we should go down the route of 5 Live's Friday film review where those texting in list their qualifications. Sorry for the hijack, just something that's been bugging me lately BTW I'm in South Wales (the old version).0

Yeah!
And how about a bit where we give our pets name. I'm fed up with people posting pictures on threads such as 'Dogs in Lycra' and wonder if the dogs really belong to them.

My current location is mild in temperature (circa 18 degrees C) with zero wind and flat terrain. I like to keep my lounge comfy like that. I'd invite you over for a ride, but space is a little tight.
I am neither a rocket scientist nor a dog owner, but I have seen both rockets and dogs on more than one occasion, so am therefore eminently qualified to offer opinion and advice on both subjects.Cycling weakly0 -
