I am a new cyclist currently riding a Giant FCR Triple. I am looking at upgrading.I had narrowed my choices down to the following. However ideally I was keen on a compact with a 12-27 cassette on the back. None of these bikes met that requirement.

Giant Defy 2
Cannondale CAAD 9
Felt Z85

On visiting my lbs they suggested the Cube Attempt which has Shimano 105 rather than Tiagra which the 3 I had shortlisted had.

I am going for a fitting and a test ride in the next fortnight, but wondered what people's views and experience was of Cube bikes which seem to be relative newcomer to the UK market.

    I like 'em.
My Focus came in cheaper with a very similar spec otherwise I would have had one last year.
My lbs has cube in, not sure what model, about £1500, very nice looking and you won't see too many around.
CRC have some on offer and may be able to get some more of last years models with good reductions.

  • My lbs has the 2010 Attempt with a free fitting and first service for £999. It's a very good shop and I would buy it from them rather than an online shop purely for the after sales benefits.
