I need a new road bike. I am entered in the 65mile Dartmoor Classic and have £500-£600 ish to spend through the cycle to work scheme. Therefore bike has to be new. I'm 6'5" so size might be an issue. Any recommendations. I've shortlisted Specialized Allez Sport 27 or 18, Secteur Sport. I'd love to have Tiagra shifters though. ANy ideas?

Both Specialized bikes are a good starting point - Secteur might be the more comfortable of the two for the longer rides you have planned due to the more upright riding position / talller head tube.
Another to consider is the Boardman Comp. At £649 it is stightly more than the budget, but is available in 105 or Tiagra according to the website and the finishing kit is very good at the price point.
Not ridden Boardman myself, but the reviews have all been excellent so far.0 -
Thanks for that. Unfortunately my scheme can't access Halfords, so no Boardman bikes sadly.

I think you're going to be looking at a 2009 bike with reduced price. Even then you will probably need to raise your budget a bit to get Tiagra throughout.
Allez Elite is probably about the price point if you want a 2010 bike with Tiagra.
