Hi All

I am after some route advice for the above trip please.

I know I can use the canal between the two points and have done so before, but I would prefer to be on a less bumpy/ faster route: I don't have an MTB any more and really don't fancy it on my Boardman hybrid.

I don't have to be in Birmingham (Digbeth) until 10.45am. Any ideas?

Many thanks.

  • I nomally use the canal between the Canal Club, Ring Road in wolves and then through Smethwick but If on the road bike I use the A4123.
  • hybrid should be fine on the canal towpath. I ride a bike on 25 section (pretty skinny) slicks on the canal towpath by me and its fine. They are quick ways to travel too, as long as there isn't lots of ped traffic or gates, because you don't encounter junctions or lights etc - and they are pretty much flat. Can't really help with the specific route though, as I come from the west but you are north west.
