I have a week in North Island at the beginning of August. Using a Motorhome for travel and accom. Probably tour around Bay of islands after landing in Auckland. Will eventually get south to Palmerston North before flying to South Island.
Does anyone have experience of hiring bikes/buying 2nd hand bikes in Auckland? Or any cocntacts who can give me a roadie for the week?

The volcano area esp hike up Tonagiro was spectacular if you get a chance.0 -
I bought a Giant out there last year. Not a great bike, ok for the money though. There's few shops in the Auckland area, but not sure about hiring. If you do buy then I suggest you haggle a bit, especially if you buy 2nd hand. It's common practice out there to have a bit of dealing when buying. I can't do it but my girlfriends dad got me $150 dollars off my bike.0
