Rear Mech Advice

I changed my wheels over today (2nd Set had winter tyres on it, have been using MTB) thinking it was a good day to go out on Road bike.
However in doing this I did not adjust the rear mech and when I put it in a lower gear it the chain jumped between cassette and wheel and jammed big time!
This cause the Rear gear mech to be ripped away from the bike and bend up!
This completely damaged the rear mech and also the rear mech hanger looks bent also.
I have ordered a Ultegra Long Rear mech to replace the damaged one, however I am not too sure about the rear mech hanger.
Can anyone advise me on what Rear Mech Hanger I would need to get? :?
My Bike is Trek 1.7 2008 (version) and I am not sure if they are designed differently for componant or bike?
Thanks
Baz

They are made around the bike and not the components.
If you find a Trek dealer they should have them in stock.
You may be able to find them online from Chain reaction as they sell a large range of hangers. Its jsut finding the exact one0 -
Thanks for that information, I will venture to a local Trek seller.0
