very nice Mr B I had a mate at Uni who had one of those.
That's a mahoosive stemI hate it when people say David Beckham's stupid...its not like anyone ever says: 'Stephen Hawking - he's s**t at football.' Paul Calf0 -

Nah, if I remember it was black with orange decals.
Thinking about it, I'm not sure it wasn't an early P7 - my memories of that time are...erm...compromised al littleI hate it when people say David Beckham's stupid...its not like anyone ever says: 'Stephen Hawking - he's s**t at football.' Paul Calf0 -
could have been a P7, they did do them in that colour scheme IIRC (I know the feeling of a 'compromised' memory from back then )
Just fitted a brand new pair of XT SPD's and awaiting a silver Thomson inline seatpost, that will almost complete the build...
...well almost lol, I'm also looking for some X-Lite Disco bar plugs & top cap to match the bars...
...suppose I should really get an XT rear hub to match the front one as well0 -
nice and retro, i like it, the name inspired by the film by any chance?0

Tell you what I like about this bike. Its the thin steel tubing of the frame.
I had a custom built, metallic blue 15'' C16R wayback and it was one of the best rides I've owned.
Orange have made some great stuff.0 -
thats Luuuurrrrvely! i love the blend of good working new kit on a retro frame, its like the best of both worlds!I like bikes and stuff0

nice touches, i like the style of the crank arms too0

Classic frames never go out of style, top work Andy! 8)
How are you finding the Direct curve brakes? I may order a set?0 -

The Direct Curve brakes are probably my fave V brakes, they work really well & the design is great, brake pipes & boots look so cluttered, get gunked up & cause more friction in the brake system, the DC's don't have these problems
DC's do have a small issue though, you have to be careful on how wide a tyre you run, 2.1's are fine, but some 2.3" tyres can rub the brake arms under heavy braking0 -

Ive got a nice retro(ish - 2002) cannondale CAAD coming saturday, been buying new bits for it (mostly deore, Easton, Shimano Deore ST crankset, Avid levers etc. All new but with an old skool feel about them) only thing I need to source are the brakes themselves, just bought some Avid Speed Dial 7 levers today...
But most importantly I shall be running 1.3 slicks so shouldnt be a problem0 -
Cool
Shame that I don't have any pics to show you but the cable routing on the DC brakes looks so clean & smooth, they should suit a 'Dale
Looking forward to seeing another RetroMod™ build here: http://www.bikeradar.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=16335000 ... the thread need pics lol0 -
