Torn between some roubaix type arm warmers (Santini @ prendas or maybe Assos).
Or some Meraklon ones at no money - prendas cyclismo.

Now winter is over (ish) are roubaix too warm for spring/autumn. Meraklon too cool? I'm thinking the roubaix are still the ones, and the meraklon more of a summer cool day?
Do I need both? I need something to go with the gilet I'm getting.

Whilst Santini are good value, they simply don't last last as long as Assos - my Assos ones are nearly 6 years old and the gripper etc hold up well, whereas the 2 pairs of Santini ones I bought a few years ago have gone 'baggy' and constantly need to be pulled up. Gore windstopper ones are good too, but not quite as versatile.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

I am a big fan of my Castelli ones....comfy, fit well and look good.0

sort of straying off my question - not which are best, but how the two differ in warmth and what sort are best for this time of year onwards.
I'm not after recommendations here as it is now Assos, or the prendas type.... or both.0 -
Not sure about the Prendas ones, haven't tried them, but I would suggest the Assos ones are fine for spring/autumn. But I do have a pair of Specialized ones that are a bit thinner that I use when it's a bit warmer...0

If you are going to wear armwarmers then you are prrobably after some warmth - so I'd say get the roubaix type ones.
I have giordana and Lusso repel armwarmers and prefer the Lusso ones as they are warmer, longer and have better grips. They also reple water a bit so if oyu are in a light shower it is no big issue. I don't like the blue label or the fact that there is a hole in the left one due to an idiot in a race. So lusso repel are recommended by me.0 -
The Prendas ones are ok. Warm enough but they don't seem to fit me very well. Too short on the arm, but any bigger and they would fall down. Don't have a 'grippy' fitting at either end.0

I really like my DeFeet Armskins, I have the Coolmax ones which hold up really well and fit my skinny long-ish arms well.
The Rapha ones I have that came with the Classic jersey are Roubaix fabric and I don't find the fit as snug, and don't have the elastic range of fit of the Armskins.Complicating matters since 19650 -

+1 If it becomes too warm, just roll them down. It's a half-way option between long and short-sleeved jerseys.0 -
Hi there again... +1 for the roubaix ones, I have the giordana, and they have been perfect for when you want to wear them (to keep arms warm) if they get too warm, roll em down.
