After yesterday subjecting my bike to off-roading down muddy tracks, being chased by a dog for a panicky (for me) half-mile, and fording a chainring-deep road "river", I gave it a clean – and here's the proof:

Roberts03.jpg

and one from a fine day last year:

Roberts02.jpg

Roberts frame, made for me in 2004 from fillet brazed Columbus Extra Leggeri oversize steel tubes. Most of the componentry is 2004 Campag Centaur – apart from the headset, chainset and BB, which are Record. The 12/25 cassette is whatever the current cheaper one is – I think Veloce; and a KMC chain.

Seatpost is Campag Chorus titanium; Fizik Arione saddle; Thomson stem. Wheels are Record hubs on Mavic Open Pro rims; tyres currently Specialized something.

Do! I look forward to seeing it. I only recently realised they've been maintaining a busy flickr page:

What a great colour scheme for a bike (and a lovely looking bike!)

I also have a thing about 'high quality steel'. The last time I saw something this pretty was down at Argos Cycles.

  • lovely bike. We were riding around the IOW last May and came across a group of roughly 8 all riding Roberts bikes. They were lovely looking rides.
