Anyone seen this?
https://secure.met.police.uk/roadsafelondon/

From the site it says:
"This Internet page is provided to allow the public to pass information, in confidence, about illegal or nuisance road use."

Anyone used it before? I won't hold my breath but could be a good way to report near misses or dangerous driving you experience in London..

What is a "Cycling near miss"? Nearly being hit by a bike, or on a bike?

Most of the incidents I'd report would be idiot cyclists.

Used it... got initial responses, waiting for further responses.

    you live up near croydon??

the first clip I ride that most days and is fairly close to my house and I've never had trouble... saying that I don't take primary over the bridge as I feel it's selfish, cars see me to one side and wait till they can see before overtaking, you might have been unlucky or cause you were in primary you enraged the driver. Will be interesting to see what the plod think about it.

seems to me they might regret creating a web site. At the moment they manage to hide a huge number of complaints by having a painful process which means that most people give up and the paperwork never makes the stats.

Secondly they they ignore just about every complaint unless revenue or death is involved so going online is even less likely to give the public a result as the Police can now hide behind their PCs and not have to deal with someone at the desk.

Finally (rant ending) the web can massively increase volumes of correspondance so the amounts of incidents logged will go up as its easier for the public to log them, which means that the effort of wading through them ends up with the public getting less focus than the awkward process I stated in point one. Look at how email has enabled people to sit at home/work and to deluge companies with correspondence, thus ensuring that it rarely gets answered.

IMO I wouldn't have bothered commenting on either. First one I reckon he could have lamped you one.

You did give me a giggle the way you try to tell him you have a camera like it's a life saving light sabre or something

Yep, I would never say that, where I live they are more likely to jump in their car and attempt to run you over if they knew they were being videoed.

Think I recognized both locations and as CP has said I've done that bridge a few times myself. I was interested to watch as it's a local one and you mention crossing the double white lines. I'd be interested to hear what the police say as not only did he cross the lines I'd also guess the car coming the other way had to slow to avoid him.

I've often done the small rail bridge on Tennison Road (near Davidson Road leading towards South Norwood) which I swear is slightly steeper then that one and wondered if anyone would ever try the overtake as that has double solid white lines.

The second driver just seems like the typical driver of a german car, think they own the road and drive like a c*nt, I've had a few toots and arguments with drivers who insist on trying to overtake as I take primary passing traffic islands.

Yup, I've had special wings fitted to my audi so I can flip cyclists out of the way instead of driving around them.
