  • I thoroughly enjoyed the program tonight - watching men with moustaches bathing, v.good  - oh wait there's some blokes on bikes, ah now I remember I tuned in to watch cycling didn't I.
And then the Tour of the Algarve came on after which I didn't even realise was on and then my sky+ recording ended - b#ll#x. :?
All my life I've wanted to be someone; I guess I should have been more specific.
  • the bloke in the bath was bizarre..... was david duffield producing the program? kidnappings aside it could be a great winter training destination unless of course you like a beer post ride.

    Or women

But if you like Camels and freddie mercury lookalikes in hot baths Oman is the place for you :D

Agreed, great landscapes, and actual crowds. A bit of a contrast with Qatar. Stage 2 of the Tour of Qatar was the most pathethically atmosphereless finish I've seen in a long time. The tour of Oman seems much more grounded in local enthusiasm
  • Now I like watching most (all) cycling but the Tour of Qatar is prob the most boring sporting event I've seen for a long time. Even most of the winter Olympics seems exciting compared to that.
They should just race the last 3km as a bunch sprint and it may be worth watching then.

Qatar had some excellent racing - especially on Stage 2. The coverage was poor and the scenery less than inspiring but the level of racing was pretty good for early season.
