I hope it stays as a functioning recording studio and doesn't become some crappy museum - or worse flats.
Old hippies don't die, they just lie low until the laughter stops and their time comes round again.

Buildings and structures are capable of having more meaning than just being a pile of bricks. Think of St Pauls, the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State Building, the Valley, Sydney Opera House and the Angel of the North.

To be honest, it means nothing to me.
I did listen to Macca speak about it and, given he is probably the richest bloke in the whole world (outside of Uncle Bill), I thought he was very non-committal ("I hope someone does something to save it"). Seems strange when he is one of the four people who made the studio famous, AFAIK.
Honest question: did anyone else do anything decent there?0 -
surely the music that was created their is its legacy, the actual building ?
the whos live at leeds album is legendary but it was recorded in a boarded up cinema in the centre of town that no-one cares about0 -
I used to live on Abbey Rd. Never actually got held up by people taking their pictures on the crossing, but did find the messages scrawled on the wall outside pretty nauseating.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0

...for beating me to it. RAZE IT TO THE GROUND!Making a cup of coffee is like making love to a beautiful woman. It's got to be hot. You've got to take your time. You've got to stir... gently and firmly. You've got to grind your beans until they squeak.
And then you put in the milk.0 -
