Merida Bikes - who's riding them?

I have recently bought a Merida Crossway bike. I was dithering between going for a Giant Expression or a Ridgeback Velocity when I saw a Merida Crossway in my local Bike shop.I did a bit of research on Merida and they seem to be huge especially in mountain bikes. Why do we not see more of their bikes about in the UK? The bike I bought seems to be fairly well spec'd and rides fast and well.Has anyone else had experience of the Crossway?

You do see loads of them - you just don't don't realise it! Merida are a huge company, perhaps the 2nd or 3rd largest manufacturer of bike frames on the planet. They act as vendors to may of the big names and produce their frames. They have a large stake in Specialized.
More rarely we see them flying their own flag.0 -
yep back in 2001 Merida, was the world's second largest bicycle manufacturer when it bought 49% of Specialized."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I'm doing local 20 mile or so runs on it at present but will be doing Exmoor in May with full panniers. I had SKS mudguards fitted which are very robust. Can't be doing with a mud streak up the back!0
