Are there any vfm and aesthetically pleasing cages out there or should I buy the frame maker's standard issue?

depends if you want ti cages too, or carbon.

Tacx toa works a treat but they aren't exactly sex on two bolts...

Which company are you buying the frame from? The Van Nicholas and Enigma carbon cages look sweet.

The Lezyne bottle cage with build it holder for the equally nice looking Lezyne road pump is a nice elegant combination. Soooo this season.

I have 2 Zefal standard bottle cages on my litespeed.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000 ... 2EFQ3GKMGT

They are very light, sturdy and come in a range of colours. i have the silver and black due to my bike being Ti and carbon forks, seat post. :D

Ps, pumps should go in pockets not cluttering up frames. Might as well have handlebar tassles and wing mirrors whilst you are at it.
  • I like the look of the £20 ones from wiggle! would go well with a Ti frame

+1, but not that bad. May get a couple of Enigma cages at some point though, just to be a complete brand tart:

Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

Just popped 2 x King cages on mine.

£60 the pair from USA inc delivery.

No other option makes sense!!! Ask for the free postage - mine came in under 2 weeks.

Got 2 Tacx Tao for my commuter, but they seem to be too big for all my bottles !!!!

Have 2 Planet-X carbon cages on my Ti bike. 2 for 30 quid at the moment:

personally I prefer the black Taos myself

I've tried the cheap carbon jobs and wasn't impressed.

The King style to cages do have an elegance to them, if a tad retro looking (which may be a good or a bad thing)

I also like the original Ringle H20 cage, which is very retro in a mtb way.

At 28g each, they rock. And they can be adjusted by bending.

If you're looking for something to blend well with a brushed ti frame, consider stainless steel.
    There's plenty of choice, weight somewhere between carbon and alu and good vfm. I have the Blackburn which I like, £12 each, though there's plenty of other styles;

Ah... Scrumple has a point about those cages of his. I went for their C ones, which are a tad lighter. Main reason for posting is that the aforementioned AspireVeloTech Co. seemed top notch in the customer care dept.

Anyway, good luck with your purchase.

I have two Nitto R cages on mine, they're very nice minimal looking cages that don't flex as much as Ti cages, so keep a better hold of the bottle.

    the above makes no sense...

"better" here is meaningless, as Ti ones work fine.
  • Arundel Stainless, price is right and they look very unique

Great for you that that is the case Scrumple, unfortunately for me that has not been my experience, so 'better' for me is not meaningless.
