Other info:

Recently built-up into winter / commuter specification. I ride just the one bike nowadays and use it every day for commuting, off-road and occasional touring. I also have slicks, rear-QR-mounted pannier rack and suspension forks all on hand for various ride tasks!

The Soul is a great ride and a real do-it-all bike. I hope this shows that you really only need one bike if you're able to compromise on some aspects!

Comments

  • Nice. I really like the Souls - 24/25lbs with a 130mm fork is good going too

    Lurvely :D
I hate it when people say David Beckham's stupid...its not like anyone ever says: 'Stephen Hawking - he's s**t at football.' Paul Calf

    That's gorgeous!!

How are the Exotic forks? Been toying with a set of them for my singlespeed project...

That looks sort of familiar  Very nice! What length of forks did you use? I picked up the 29er (130mm corrected) Exotics for my Soul and it's fantastic like that but I sometimes wonder if I should have got the 100mms corrected ones...

  • The Exotic forks are corrected for 130mm (29er sizing) - they were originally fitted to my Pace RC305. I got them from Carbon Cycles direct for £85 or so. The quality seems just as you'd expect from a bigger OEM name and ride very well as an accompaniment to a steel frame. The obvious advantage over something like a Project Two fork is the weight; I think they're around 750g. I use them for winter commuting and road riding, when frankly the local off-road trails are just too muddy for a young father to have time to clean-up after an off-road ride!

The fluffy thing is Handlebaa the sheep - my good luck mascot!
