I'm running ust fire xc pro's for general riding as they suit local conditions but as I'm returning to do Mountain Mayhem again this year I'm contemplating something lighter / faster rolling for if it's dry (ps I do already have the more likely mud tyres  ).
Looking at rocket rons but the ust one is around 200g heavier than the tubed version...plus you'd have a bit of sealant in there...so aproaching half a kilo minus two inner tubes.
Am I better off going tubed for the the racce with lightweight tubes?
Also looking at furious fred which seem very light but are they a nightmare with that little tread?

You don't need sealant in UST - but yes, are generally heavier. But you can run lower pressures without risk of pinch flats (but not too low as may burp or roll off the rim!)0

If it's dry take a look at Stans Crows. I'm running my race bike on them now and they are great.0
