New bike help (again)

I made a post recently about buying a budget bike upto about £450. After suggestions i went to halfords to get a better look at the Carrera Fury. I was pretty much sold until i got home and had a look on ebay and found some other potential. I know very little about bikes so you'll have to help me out.

I found a new Kona Blast for £420 and a Dawes XC2.0 for £329 also a Claud Butler Pinewood for £450. I might not know much but i do know that Kona make some good bikes. Both bikes look the part but i'm not sure how they stack up.

At this price am i just paying for a name?

Am i still better off sticking with the Carrera Fury?

i could be wrong , but i was told that carrera are made by kona at the same factory

As far as I am aware Kona don't make their frames but use a Vendor.

Nope, from my sources I am led to believe they are made by Merida, who make frames for lots of bike brands

As far as I know Kona don't manufacture frames & may well have them made by Merida.
