I need a new seat post bolt, any idea where I can buy these? One side has a notch on the bolt to fit into a slot on one side. Both sides are allen key

Any half decent bike shop should sell these--or google shows a load of shops selling them. They can be different sizes, depending in whether bolt is countersunk in the clamp, so a shop may be better.

You could replace it with one of these for £4, from your LBS. Better looking, better adjustment and just as tight.

Won't fit if it's a steel frame either as the bolt heads are generally recessed..Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0 -

Those bolts used to be very common for steel frames. As mentioned they come in different sizes and most shops can get you one. Just take it to your LBS for comparison. There are other cheaper options besides Campag at half the price. But really, 6 quid for a probably once in a lifetime replacement is not all that bad either.0

But why would you need to adjust it much? I can understand if it was an MTB but not on a road bike. I'd rather not be able to easily mis-set my perfectly positioned seat post. Besides, just adds weight and maybe looks a bit clunky.......Faster than a tent.......0 -

Probably but not certainly. I have done in 2 already and have learned to keep a spare.
Using a torque wrench helps but I think fatigue sets in if you are close to the max.None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -
wow the new bolt just snapped again :-( And now the bolt is stuck with no exposed thread :-( Looks like gonna have to spend £10 on that Campag partSay... That's a nice bike..

You have to be really careful that you don't over-tighten this type of bolt.0 -

Good link! :P If I didn't already have a spare.........
A torque wrench may not be the complete answer but it helped me no end to stop shearing the bloody things :oops:None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -

Yep one on my MXL. Got to give it some TLC. Just nip it tight or min torque wrench. Lots of grease on the threads and behind bolt head's etcColnago C60 SRAM eTap, Colnago C40, Milani 107E, BMC Pro Machine, Trek Madone, Viner Gladius,
