All standard spec at the moment but needs a longer seatpost - probably put my Thomson Elite in there. might change the saddle too but will give the boardman one a go.

will post new pics if i change anything.

just got to sort the air pressures out now.

only had it a week. been for one ride so far. found it comfy, and handled well through some slippy single track. the SK tyres are not bad for the mud around nottingham. certainly better than the nobby nics on the other bike. Body position felt much like my steel hardtail. I want to weigh the bike but cant find my scales after just moving house. will let you know what its like when i take it up to the peaks over the next couple of weeks.

Where did you get those mud guards, just the colours I'm looking for.

[edit: never mind, just found them on the Halfords website] :D

Yep Halfords. Got £100 free to spend when i bought the bike and thought the red brackets would be better for that bike.

Just wondering if anyone is running the Ritchey WCS rims tubeless and if so what set-up are you using?

Was hoping to run this bike tubeless but dont want to change the wheels, if its not possible on these rims i might have to go the ghetto tubeless route but fingers crossed for a more standard tubeless set-up!

You need a longer seatpost? Perhaps you've bought a frame size thats slightly too small for you mate. But other than that, good bike and good value for monies.

If i bought the 20" frame the TT would be too long for my liking even though I do have long arms. I've spent most of the past 4 years riding bikes with 18" seat tubes or 19" ones with quite a lot of post still in the frame. Bizarre but thats how bikes seem to fit me.

    Looks good.

For the money I think they're very hard to beat.

Loving the fact that in a field you have bike with no guards and vice-a-versa outside your house :D

i've recently changed the wheels for Hope Pro 2 hubs with Stans 355 rims. Total weight is now a smidge under 27lbs, not bad for 120mm travel. Will post some pics soon.

The Reba forks are brilliant too. Looking to see if I can get a set cheapish for my other bike too.

wheels were £380 i think from JustRidingAlong. I got them over a year ago, I think you can get them cheaper now. when i got them Stans Wheels weren't being done on Hope Hoops.

    Pic tonight, promise

So from the standard spec I've changed the tyres to some slightly chunkier Spesh Purgatorys, the seatpost to a Thomson Elite, the saddle to a Charge Spoon Ti and the wheels to Hope Pro2 hubs with Stans 355 rims and the cassette to a SRAM PG980. Like I said, under 27lbs now from the standard 27.8lbs. Not reduced the weight because i wanted a lighter bike but because those where the parts I wanted to put on there.

Nice looking machine there and the upgrades add that little touch!

Not sure how well known the wheels I have are, but anyone looking in that bracket should consider them .....

www.amclassic.com for the manufacturer's website. I got mine from Clee Cycles.

One of the lightest wheelsets around - but strong with it........

Looks nice. I'm thinking about Hope hubbed wheels from Merlin. I really want a bit of colour bling but my bike is subtle and it would probably look a bit silly with gold hubs or something. Or maybe a random bit of bling at those two specific places would be nice.

Too expensive to risk though I think ha.

Out of interest, where abouts in notts do you ride? Maybe we could hook up some time for a ride?

Ilovedirt, not me mate. I live in west nottingham, Beeston. At the moment i tend to head out towards strelley and over to Kimberley sometimes. Feel free to contact me if you fancy a ride.

Stoo61, my other mtb is a Pipedream Sirius in blue, the red hubs came off that bike. I blinged that bike up with red hubs, red seatpost and a red headset to go with the red on the bars and brakes and saddle now the only thing on there with red on is the headset, looks pretty nice i think with just a splash of colour but not too much.

hmmmmm....maybe gold hubs and a gold KCNC chain...the stancions on the rebas are a dull gold. They sort of line up too. I am literally the kind of person that likes the aesthetics of a bike as much as riding.
