Carbon or Alloy Seatpost?

I need a new seatpost to go on my new (carbon) bike. What are the pros and cons of carbon v alloy on a seatpost? Is there a noticeable difference in comfort?
My budget is up to £60. I like the look of the Deda Zero in white but it's alloy.
Is a carbon-wrapped seatpost just carbon-wrapped for aesthetics?
Thanks

I only notice any difference when there is a lot of post showing.
I'd get the Deda one, looks really good and works!
Benefit of alloy is price and the fact you aren't worried about the clamp being tightened up too much..
CF wrapped alloy can be stiffer and reduce road buzz if done right. If done wrong (and I have one of these) they can just be the same as an alloy post but heavier and have a carbon weave for aesthetics.
Actually, I think you should buy my Thomson Masterpiece post for 75 quid....0 -
I used to have a carbon post - now ride an aluminium one - the aluminium post is lighter, but I can't tell the difference in ride.....0

+1 for what NapD said... If you have a lot of post showing, then you're more likely to notice the difference with a lightweight CF post.
Quality alloy posts are good, too.
I wouldn't personally bother with a CF wrapped post.Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -

In the numerous bikes I've had I've never suffered seatpost related discomfort, it's just a stick to hold the saddle up after all.0 -
in that case you could get a broom handle from Wikos?0
