Juicy 3 problem

I dropped my back wheel earlier to check my pads - took the calliper off to make things easier to remove the pads. After refitting things, the wheel spins fine and appears to be centred however when I apply the brakes, the lever no longer returns and the brake binds until I manually return the lever. Any ideas?

TIA folks.
I've just got back into MTB after about 10 years off and things have moved on a lot. As such, my knowledge of components and standards is way out date so apologies if I'm saying stupid things...

    What brakes are they?

Did you put the spring back in between the pads, if there was one?

EDIT: Duh! It's in the title! Sorry. So did you put the spring back in?

My Juicy 7s did this when new, Halfords gave me a brand new set, so I don't know what a fix would be

Yeah, the springs are still in - they were still attached to one of the pads but went back in without a problem.

Another thing I've thought of is that I changed to the bars to a wider so had to remove the levers - is this likely to have affected things? - having said that, the fronts are fine....

No, can't see how anything at the clamp would do this., so it shouldn't be that.

Avids are prone to lever issues (especially the 7s/ultimates)I've given up on them.Far too unreliable.Shit gets in behind the lever/reservoir seals then it's rebuild time

I've been back out and had another look - the calliper is definitely centred and the pistons are retracting equally.

The lever pulls back to the bar but seems to stick at the bite point on the return as if there's a spring missing (which I know there isn't as they're hydraulic) - the rear wheel does spin but slows down due to the friction of the pads on the disc.

Btw, I've only had the bike about 3 months so I don't think it's a 'wear' issue (at least I hope not!).
