Anyone one around next week for a ride around Ben Lomond, meant to be a bit snowy but, still want to try and get up for a big hill ride.

Looks awesome to ride down, just don't want to do it alone, could all end in tears.

  • It's a great ride when in condition, buried in snow, possibly neve is just plain stupid fella!, there is a time and a place for dicking around on push bikes, half way up a mountian in a snowy winter aint the time, it really is worth the wait.

A lot of ice and snow there right now. More of it's covered than you'd think. Shouldn't be too bad so long as you aren't actually planning to ride the mountain.

OK, sound advice, won't bother at the mo, maybe just circle round the bottom.

You should have given it a go. A mate and I took the bikes up Ben Ime around the middle of Feb and had a blast riding down in knee deep powder. Took four hours of slog to get to the top mind, once there we just pointed down and went for it - loads of fun and not too many spills. And to top it off the path from the bottom of the Cobbler was clear so we had some propper fun flying down that as well.

I have to admit it was a wee bit worrying pushing the bikes up a path full of crampon and ice axe marks......
