Hi all, I have the following bike...
http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-IN/bik ... 171/34776/ Giant Defy 3.
I need to buy some new brake pads for the Tektro R350 brakes, but looking at chainreaction I have get this Shimano 105 brake unit for a tenner! Which is only a few quid more than some new pads.
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=13603
Would these be any noticeably different/better than my existing Tektros (spec can be seen here... http://www.tektro.com/02products/09sb.php)
Does having cartridge type pads have any benefits?
Thanks for your advice. Simon

Cartrige pads are better as you can fit a wider range of pads into them like Koolstop Salmon as often recommended here.
The 105 calipers might be a bit better made and less flexy when braking.
You are not going to notice a huge difference but the 105 brakes are amazing value if you want one silver and one black :?He is not the messiah, he is a very naughty boy !!0 -
Thanks for the reply toptude, I was thinking about just replacing the front brake? In black which should look ok on my frame.0

I decided to get a front and rear (dif colours) but for £20 the difference in braking performance is great. It would have cost £12 to get some new pads so I think I got a bargain!0
