Thanks. And this photo really doesn't do it justice. I did consider the white and red for while but thought that this would be more of a timeless colour scheme and would age better. I'm still waiting to get that 1st ride though.

I'm trying not to think about it too much but it's cost approx £4.7k.

Very nice but the cranks should be in line with the seat tube on all gallery photos.

I know I know - not very OCP is it but then I was slightly distracted with chain 'issues'!

Eddy, having seen the bike in the flesh, so to speak, the photos don't do it justice. Very nice indeed.

What made you pick a Merckx frame out of interest?

    BB is Italian.

I just finished a review of the EMX 1 for those who might be interested, check my blog.

is it true that this is a pinarello underneath?

EMX 5 and EMX 3 are now made in the same factory as Pinarello. The EMX 1 is made elsewhere.

Maybe people feel it's a bad thing and I suppose at some level it loses a little luster knowing it's an Eddy Merckx but it's not made in-house. On the other hand it is made in a factory that makes fantastic bikes.

I’m a track sprinter who does most of his training on the road. I wanted a frame which doesn’t flex in the BB area (I de-rail the chain on my other carbon framed bike because I twist the frame on over-geared efforts) but needed a bike that still offers a comfortable ride around the country lanes that I train on.

I also wanted something pretty distinctive/rare. When I saw the EMX-5 at the Earls Court show last year, I just knew it was the frame for me.

I’m not crazy about the tall head tube geometry but life is full of compromise! The ride and responsiveness when it is ridden aggressively make up for that. 8)

My EMX 5 - Just finished review on my blog. Yellow and Polka jerseys at the same time in the TDF - Great for EM.

Great job. And what a change to see someone use groupset hubs and handbuilts.
    Very nice.

    That looks yummy! :D

Some Elite Custom Race cages in black with the stickers removed would improve it three fold though.

Nice looking build and a nice write-up Clive. But then I am slightly biased! 8) It has been great to see the Quick Step team and EMX-5 getting so much TdF air-time.

If you're referring to my bike, thanks and I kind of know what you mean - the Easton cages do look much better with a bottle in them. I will eventually replace them with something else as they're not that great at retaining bottles on the rough roads that I ride on.
