Most Overated Helmet ever.

They say it deserves more than 3 stars. For £120, it is heavier and bulkier than my £40 Bell Alchera.

The Catlike might just be worth 4 stars if it was a £40 helmet. For £120 it is nothing but a cheap helmet with a far too large price tag.

To be honest reddragon you seem to be pretty alone in there and I can understand why. I tried one and loved it - I would take that Euskaltel one off you if I wasn't a Large! :(

I honestly don't know how can you rate the Spesh higher though, must be your noggin, as when I tried I looked more like an alien out of Men in Black than a human.

They have also gone up in price a lot ... so might agree you in there. I personally wouldn't pay more than £60 for a helmet.

The Spesh fits me perfect (like the original Whisper) and is way lighter and less bulky.

I like the looks of the Whisper, I had the Original Whisper until I crashed it, and the replacement "Plus" seemed to weigh double and be twice as big.

Compared to the other "top of the range" helmets the plus just seems more like a cheap helmet.

Man, you are one opinionated bunny. Check your facts too, the Alchera weighs 309g compared to Whisper Plus' 260g.

I like 'em but I couldn't stomach paying out that kind of cash for a hat that is possibly no better than the one I currently have!

Interesting comments redd, I guess everyone has a different head of course and for me it would be down to the fit. Don't think they look that special have to say, style wise.

I have 2 Compact Pros, a Limar and recently junked a Giro - since I've got a Lazer Helium, nothing else gets a look in.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

How? Why do you consider the venting to be crap (I'm assuming that this isn't actually an established fact?).

Feels more like a wooly hat than a helmet that supposed to have top quality venting.

reddraggon, is that all over or just thetop? Just the sides mabe? I can't see how it can be that bad personally (but then I've not worn one yet).

blackhawkbikes.com try not to get price and quality confused mate - the two don't always go together! :)

It just doesn't seem to cool the head.

Blackhawkbikes seems to not know much about quality. I have a Spesh 2D, Bell Achera, and a Whisper Plus. When I wear them I can't tell the difference between the Whisper Plus and the Achera, and that says a lot about the quality of the Whisper Plus. The Spesh 2D just feels at a fair higher level than the Whisper Plus. So the argument saying that only people who don't want to pay for an expense helmet thinks the Whisper Plus, is a null and void argument.

None of my comments refer to the old style Whisper, that was lighter, had better cooling, and felt like pure quality, and I'd swap my 2D for that any day. The old Whisper was the best helmet ever, a real shame they ruined it downgrading it to the Whisper Plus.

So YOUR personal experience with the Whisper Plus has been bad, there seem to be enough people who DO like it. I find mine to feel light and cool. I haven't tried the Spesh 2D or your other legion of headgear, so can't comment on them, but I don't think £125 is a lot to pay for premium head protection that, for me anyway, is light and comfortable. As regards quality, I think the Whisper is a quality product, well made and finished.

And you still haven't acknowledged that the Whisper+ weighs 260g to the Alchera's 309g....

Don't know about it feeling like a wooley hat- Was so cold wearing it this winter that i had to wear a really thick beanie underneath just to retain any warmth. Enjoying it now the weather is getting warmer though :)
