Quick question - DT rims/Stan's

Quick question - am considering going tubeless on some DT XCR 1.7 rims, but the Stan's No Tubes website suggests that I'll need to drill out the valve hole, which seems a bit excessive.
Can anyone confirm whether this is necessary?
Thanks,
Andy

you need to do it so that the rimstrip can fit flat on the inside and provide a better seal.
You only drill the inner part.0
