Fitting a shorter rear shock

Hi. I currently have a RockShox Pearl 3.1 rear shock on my Norco which is 200mm in length with a 55mm stroke length. I have got hold of a Fox Float rp2 which measures 190mm with a stroke length of 50mm. Could anyone tell me what the effects would be if i were to fit this to my bike, if any. I understand it may slacken the head angle a bit, but how would it affect travel etc.Forgive my ignorance. Cheers.
